Lesson 4: Jalisco

 

Jalisco is a state in the west of Mexico.  The folkloric costume for the male is a cowboy suit with silver buttons, a large bow, and a big sombrero. The female folkloric dress is a traditional "ranchero" dress with ribbons in the hair.  Their is a famous dance that is known worldwide as the Mexican Hat Dance, or Jarabe Tapatío.
